That Deafening Silence was born in Nashville, TN but conceived in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. A frequent site of weekend excursions for David Madeira and Tony Bakker while students at Belmont University, the Smokies also served as site of spiritual retreat and the exchange of musical ideas. Trevor Delling (bass) and Ryan Burleson (guitar) were brought on board, and the band was born.
